Conservative on Target for 2/17/12

52% Favor Candidate Who Would Raise Taxes on Wealthy[Surprise, surprise! What else would you expect when 49% of the country don’t pay any income taxes? – JS]

From Pat Buchanan in Blacklisted But Not Beaten: The modus operandi of these thought police... is to prattle about their love of dissent and devotion to the First Amendment, [while] they seek systematically to silence and censor dissent. Without a hearing, they smear and stigmatize as racist, homophobic, or anti-Semitic any who contradict what George Orwell once called their 'smelly little orthodoxies.' They then demand that the heretic recant, grovel, apologize, and pledge to go forth and sin no more. Defy them, and they will go after the network where you work, the newspapers that carry your column, the conventions that invite you to speak. If all else fails, they go after the advertisers. I know these blacklisters. They operate behind closed doors, with phone calls, mailed threats, and off-the-record meetings. They work in the dark because, as Al Smith said, nothing un-American can live in the sunlight.

"Honesty pays, but it don't seem to pay enough to suit some people." -- Frank McKinney Hubbard

Payroll-Tax Cut Pact Clears Congress > [That’s the bad news. The RINOs have stampeded the vote again. The good news is that some of our supposedly conservative politicians actually voted against it! – JS]

Empty Buildings > NYC Kicks Churches out of Schools: It’s no secret that Christianity has been unwelcome in public schools for a long time. But recently New York City’s government took an unprecedented step by forcing around 60 churches to vacate sanctuaries they pay to use… Christians introduced the virtue or tolerance into Western civilization, and we cherish it to this day. But apparently our faith is too much for the New York City government to tolerate in its empty buildings — even long after the bell has rung.

INCREDIBLE! Taxpayers Paying For Illegal Immigrants in Connecticut:

In 2007, federal immigration agents raided a location in New Haven, Connecticut and arrested eleven men on the charges of being in the United States illegally.  The men filed suit against the federal government and claimed that their rights were violated.
Nearly five years later, the federal government has announced that they have reached a settlement with the eleven illegals.  In the announcement, the feds have agreed to pay the men $350,000 and to stop all deportation proceedings against them.

Napolitano Gives Muslim Brotherhood U.S. Security Clearance. Ignores Terrorism: Napolitano’s Homeland Security department claims to ramp up efforts at identifying potential terrorists, a new report reveals, yet ignores the fact that the Secretary has hired at least one Muslim radical and given him secret security clearance to US intelligence.
